Have you ever wondered what it must’ve been like to live in Alexandria at a time when George Washington frequented Gasby’s Tavern? Take a step back into the past at the George Washington Birthnight Banquet and Ball, held at the tavern-turned-museum. Gadsby’s Tavern Museum is throwing its big annual bash in celebration of George Washington’s birthday on Saturday, February 15th from 5:30 to 11 p.m.
George and Martha will both be in attendance, of course, along with other actors dressed in period garb. You’re welcome to come in costume, as well, but you can also just opt for cocktail attire. The party promises a banquet straight from 1799, complete with English country dancing and an opulent dessert spread. Tickets start at $75 for dancing only and $150 for dinner and dancing.
